We spent the evening having a wonderful dinner and then a movie to celebrate a friend’s son 18th Birthday….The dinner was sooo good! The movie we saw was The Pursuit of Happyness. I just loved this movie. The absolute determination and commitment this man had really touched me. So many people find it so...

Hey Kerri, the question you asked is not “snoopy”. I ask myself the same question every day. For now it is just a hobby I have never charged anyone or sold a print for anything I do. I have a good job as the director of development at Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit PA. It gives my wife and I the income to keep her at home and for me to have expensive hobbies like photography. My wife and I also travel a great deal due to my position for the school so that enables me to take pictures in places that many can not get too. Dilema #1 is that I don’t want to do weddings and that’s where the $ is. I like Fine art and that market is pretty much hard to get into especially living in northeastern PA. I love wedding photography but that’s not my passion. My passion is for moody images that invoke emotion. I want to take pictures that make people feel emotions that they did not even know they had. Unfortunatly, there is no market for that so unless God opens up a huge door it will always remain as such.

Sounds like my kinda new year’s eve party…unless the college kids invite me to come take pictures, Spence and I are staying home:heartbeat:

Kerri in response to your comment on my picture. I am ashamed to say that photoshop does most of the work I have a wacom tablet and I dodge and burn the skies the original looks much more natural than what you see when I am done with it. that particular picture took me about 5 hours to complete in photoshop. I worked on it for a week a little at a time

Hi kerri, ryce~ we had a small christmas at my mom’s. The two guys are my nephews, they belong to my sister jenny and her husband bob. (missing were our sister and brother, plus my oldest nephew who just got married)
I love the books Linsey made you…. My daughter was sad that college and finals kept her from making handmade gifts this year. Got a laugh out of the tennis shoes..it really looks like someone has crawled under there
Neat pictures! LOL at the last one!! Only 48 days left for your grandbaby…the last few weeks will just whoosh right by!! :sunny:

This year for New Years Eve we are staying home!! Like always! Love spending the time ringing in the new year with my kids so that I can reflect on the year that is gone and the year coming up. We all talk about what fun things we would like to do in the coming year. I buy Sparkling Grape Juice for the kids and we have a toast!! It is a great time! We are also having munchies and telling all our friends and neighbors to come by if they want to. I would rather them come here than be in any bar……………that scares me…to many drunk drivers out there!! Anywho, you all have an incredible time and I am wishing you much health and wealth in 2007!! Keep on doin what you are doin!!! Loves and h uggz to you all……………Kimi
Your family looks wonderful. I can see that you have made yourself a great home. I love the shot of the shoes very creative. Hope your weekend goes well

What great gift ideas! I love that shot of the shoes and fridge! I’m glad you had a great Christmas.
I’ve missed SO MUCH!!!! My family has been in from all over the country and I vowed to stay off the computer! It was the first time I’ve taken any time off during the holidays in over 10 years!!!! It was great fun. When you wrote to me that you needed to go visit your grandbaby, I thought… oh my God… Kelly had her baby!!!! But I realize now that she is still pregnant! Okay, phewwwww!!! I thought I missed that one! Looks like you had a wonderful holiday. I’m sorry to hear about Mark’s kidney stones… ugghh! Just what you need at the holidays! And loved your elf!!!! Too funny! I have a lot of catching up to do! Take care and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! :heartbeat: :heartbeat: :heartbeat: ~ D :heartbeat:a :heartbeat:w :heartbeat:n

Kerri
Lindsay, I love the books! You know that I love to make them myself so I want to see in person the ones you made and catch up on your photography. I also love Pinhole Photography and I have a pinhole cap I bought for doing pinhole on my digital slr. I have made some pinhole cameras too so we should talk soon. I like Brian’s favorite pair of shoes.
Sounds like your family had a very Merry Christmas! Just spending it together is wonderful alone.
Thanks for your wonderful comments on my last shoot. I have so many more to post but still catching up.

That is such a beautiful picture of you two, it’s a keeper:) I’m so excited Dennis got tickets for us to go to a New Year’s Eve party at the “Jazz Institute” in Pasadena. And he bought me a beautiful dress for Christmas, to wear to it! Usually I’ve always just hung out at home with whatever family stays home, so this will be different! He just moved to Pasadena 2 or 3 blocks from where the Rose Parade goes by, so his grown kids and some friends (me too after the party) are spending the night “camping” in his apt, then walking over in the morning to see the parade. Happy New Year, dear ones, God bless you all through 2007! Love, Gerrie
That sounds like fun, Gerrie! Wow new dress! I havent bought a new dress in ages!!!!!
Kerri
I wish i was using a full frame! The image is actually a 4 photo stitch. Glad you like it!
What a sweet and romantic picture! NYE is our baby son’s first birthday so we’re not sure what we will do. We were going to have a little family celebration, but now that we have a blizzard pounding us right now…not sure if we will be going through with it or postpone it to another time. Happy New Year to you all!
LOVE THE PIC, GIRL!
WISH I COULD HELP YOU ON SOME N.Y.EVE’S IDEAS, BUT I’M FRESH OUT. THIS PAST CHRISTMAS EVE WAS THE FIRST TIME I HOSTED A LITTLE GET-TOGETHER, THEN I COOKED CHRISTMAS DINNER FOR THE SAME BUNCH THE NEXT DAY. WORE ME AND TOMMY OUT, ROFL!
ALL I CAN TELL YOU IS THAT MY FAMILY STAYS IN ON NEW YEAR’S EVE, ESPECIALLY IN THE LATE HOURS NEAR/AFTER MIDNIGHT, TOO MANY DRUNKS OUT AND NOT WORTH RISKING OUR LIVES FOR.
HAVE A GREAT ONE, GIRL, IF I DON’T TALK WITH YA BEFORE THEN!
LOVE, CHERYL
Awww what a beautiful picture. And to make it even more beautiful, you avoided having grainy noise by using a Canon 5D. Awwwwwwww. =)
Have a fantastic 2007 Mark & Kerri! You are really good folks.
That is a lovely picture…Kerri looks beautiful, and Mark handsome.
As for New Year’s Eve, I planning to crash the youth group’s party and take pictures:love:
I say–stay home where it is all nice, warm and cozy!! :heartbeat:  :heartbeat: ~Carolyn
We are going to have a dinner at church at 7:00, then play games till midnight. At midnight we will have a short prayer service to pray in the new year.
:fun: I think I will dress up like the Times Square Ball all lit up and run around the neighborhood yelling Happy New Year! Just hope the cops don’t catch me they’ll liable to lock me up and throw away the key! Naaaa…on second thought that sounds stupid. Oh wait! I know!! I’ll dress up like the New Years baby! Yea that wont scare anyone. Wait a minute… do they make diapers that large for a 300lb adult man?! No wait a minute, its freezing out. Oh brother Im out of ideas. No wait! I know I’ll go to the Lydells House and right at midnight set off some fireworks! Naaa…that wont work, Kerry is a great Marksman, she shoot my eyes out! I give up. I guess it us and the TV with no Dick Clark again. Happy New Year Ya’All!
I love the picture! :heartbeat: I’ve not been visiting around in ages, and was reading back on Mark’s painful episodes. So glad that you are better. My brother had the same thing happen ~ woke up with such severe pain, ended up driving himself to the ER. They kept him overnight, did surgery the next day to remove his. I’d never seen him in such pain & agony. Reminded me of labor, actually. He’s good as new now, & I hope you are as well.
What a sweet sweet pic! Happy New Year you guys! You crown the year with Your Goodness, and Your paths drip with Abundance! Ps 65:11 May His goodness and abundance drip on you guys big time! Blessings, Kenny
that 5d really has something to it. i am seeing a lot of converts out there. i just asked randy how to spell boocoo!
we just hung out at home and made a seafood paella with the neighbors. in bed by 11:30. i tried to stay up later to watch a prairie home companion in nashville, but i was too tired. big baby!

Taking down the Christmas decorations tomorrow…I am goofing around with some of my pictures I tookbefore I take them down. I am liking the blue not so sure about the grainy-film look… 0 votes 0 votes what do you think? Share

I prefer the 1st one too.
When do you put your decorations up? Do you like to take them down before the new year?
I’d go with the first…the grain in the second isn’t very realistic, especially on the bird, and it takes away from the softness. Great shot, like the blue!
 I can’t believe you gave us all the BIRD today! LOL!!!
I am for the first one it looks much more sharp and edgy.
And it’s an over all awesome picture.
I have already taken a picture and made a layout. Aaaaaah yes. How has biz for you guys?
Really? Already? Wow that’s pretty crazy.
If you wanna see my pictures go here photo.xanga.com/da_fine
there are good photography ones mixed in with the rest.
“what do you think?” :sunny: Well, thank you for asking! I like the first picture — :nono: not the second one. I like taking the decorations down before the New Year also……….hooray…….2007 is soon upon us!! Love ya ~Carolyn :heartbeat::love::heartbeat:
Are you trying to show the difference between a 5D and Nikon with the grain?
Sorry, I couldn’t help it…don’t start sending hate mail – i couldn’t pass up up the opportunity.
the first one is much much better i think the other just is too much noise
OK………I am going to be the weird one here, I like both of course, but the second one gives it an aged look. Like it was your grandmothers tree many years ago. But love them both. Really love the blu though! Anywho have a wonderul new year girlfriend…………huggz to you all………..Kimi
I like both of them also but do prefer the first image. Nice mood.
i like the blue one.. i always like grainy pics though.. Happy New Year!

UPDATE: We had a most marvelous Christmas yesterday. We spent the day at Dave and Kelly’s. Mark was doing pretty good until about the last few hours. He was on Vicodin most of the day but he was starting to really feel it just about the time we were leaving… so we drove home with him...
