Wow – what a week! We had so much fun on our trip… We drove down to Southern California and stopped in Irvine to meet up with some Phranga’s (Photographers + Friends + Xanga = Phranga’s). We have more pics once I’m done editing everything from our vacation but I wanted to get a couple posted...

Glad to know you had a good time — sorry it was so cold! Your timing was perfect, though, as we’ve had rain every night since you were in Irvine, and there’s lots of snow on the mountains — but the Grapevine is open again and has been for a few days, so you missed that nightmare! Love the group shot — and that ship shot is hysterical, but the disembarkation process is so terrible that it brings on that type of scowly emotion every time! T’was good to meet you all, and I hope we’ll see each other again before too terribly long… Janet

Ah Kerri, RYC: you are such a good soul. I’m sure you’ll find a loving home from him soon. I can’t wait to see his photo. We have two cats and I know how they would feel if we brought a strange kitty into the mix. But give it time, they may all coincide fine once they get to know each other. I’m glad your trip was a good one! I so badly need a vacation! And not a working one! 2008 is going to be an amazing year…. for all of us! Hey guys! When we were there 4 years ago for our honeymoon in mid-February it was gorgeous. We had two days that were a bit chilly (in the 60′s maybe) but otherwise it was really nice and fairly mild.
I’d bring a jacket or sweatshirt for evenings.
Steve and I are going to be about an hour south of Cancun from the 22nd thru the 29th. I’m not sure what our schedule is though – we’re kind of at the mercy of our clients/friends so we’ll see. I think we are going into Cancun for a day or two. We can’t wait. It’s FREEZING cold here with snow on the ground so we’re looking forward to the warm weather.
I hope you guys have a fantastic time! I’m sure you’ll have some great pictures to share. Bon Voyage!

This time of year, it’s usually fairly warm…on the coast. I’d recommend light clothes mostly, and a light or regular jacket. It defiently will still be cold when you’re at sea at night. As for a coat, I doubt you’d need that this time of year. You may need to bring formal wear for the formal nights tho, assuming this cruise has those nights.
My SIL went on a similar cruise before christmas…she only took light clothing and it was cold, so she ended up wearing th same pair of jeans the entire week! I’m not any help I know, but I thought you’d like the story.

If you really enjoy cruises, I highly recommend Princess, they have some of the most beautiful ships and BEST service, and the BEST quality food you will ever eat!!!
Celebrity is the best, but only by a little, Princess is right there after, Royal Carribean is after Princess. Princess == BEST!
Also, next time you go on a cruise, let me know, I can try to get you all a deal =)
We went last Feburary and the weather was good, and coolish, and I would bring a light jacket. My neice wanted to go swimming while we were there, but a coolish breeze was blowing so she didn’t even get her feet wet. You might need a jacket onboard also. Sometimes the wind was blowing hard, but people flocked to the onboard swimming pool anyway.
Just ONE thing—HAVE FUN!!!!!

Oh that sounds so good. I’ve been to Cozumel, Mexico but it was in November and it was very hot. If I’m not mistaken it stays warm year round though it may be cooler in the winter. It was so hot in November that I turned 3 shades in an hour and almost got heat exhaustion. I went back to the ship, cooled down, ate lunch and went back out later with a hat on. I think I enjoyed that cruise better than Jamaica. We also stopped in Costa Maya. I am glad you are feeling better and I hope you have a great time. :wave::wave::yes: Bon Voyage!!!!
“Travel safe” and I’ll look forward to meeting you tomorrow in OC! If you get this before you leave, it will be cool in OC (low 60′s). But we get the southern tail of your storms, so it will be warmer farther south, even in San Diego. I’d take a light jacket, just in case, but expect Mexico to be warm.

Ironically, my entire laguna beach gang is going to be in ATL photographing a wedding that weekend I think. Go figure. I’m in town, though, and don’t have anything to shoot or do then. Irvine is RIGHT at the 5 freeway which you will be taking to SD.
It would be way cool to show yall some of the photographic haunts I love so much, such as the beach I just took photos at the other night. But if that’s too big of a pit-stop for you, that’s okay…
If more people in the LA area wanna meet up then I’d have to drive north a bit, but if most people are in the OC-ish area, I can definitely suggest some centrally located, uh, locations.
