The Flower Farm @ Loomis, California

They say that rain on your wedding day is supposed to bring good luck, and for a while it sure looked like we would get wet, but Susan was determined to have an outdoor wedding and her confidence paid off – although it did rain a little while everyone was getting ready, when it came time for Susan to walk down the aisle the sky had cleared up! Tommy & Susan had a very lovely wedding under the big tree just outside the big red barn and next to the Dixie Chicks. They are the free range Polish chickens that live at The Flower Farm. They always add such whimsy to a wedding!

Susan wore a beautiful authentic tea ceremony dress earlier in the day at her mother and father’s home to honor her father who had passed on. Fortunately she brought it along so we could photograph it as well as her gorgeous white wedding dress. Then to make it even more fun she had another beautiful dress she wore to visit the guest tables at the reception. Cant wait to see them in her album when I sit down to design it!! I love details! I love the shoes, purses, jewelry, etc. that add meaning to the bride’s day.

After their wedding was done, we were able to spend time with Tommy & Susan up until sunset for some alone pictures, and then it was into the barn for their reception with their friends and family. The table centerpieces that Susan put together were amazing!

We truly enjoyed this couple – from the minute we met them we knew it would be a wedding that would reflect them individually and as a couple.

The Van Roo Family – A Grass Valley Family Session

We first met the Van Roo Family when we were hired to photograph Rachel and Mike’s wedding in May of 2009. Before their wedding we did their engagement session at her parent’s ranch in Grass Valley and fell in love with their property, horses and dogs!! Gotta love a family that loves animals!

We’ve had the privilege of going back to their ranch for family pictures and this year they brought us back out for some family pictures to help celebrate Bill’s birthday. Their adult children & spouses showed up for the shoot along with all of the dogs and horses. After some family shots around the pond, we headed up the hill for some more family fun in front of Bill’s favorite tree.

Below is a short slideshow from some of our favorite images from the day. The end of the slideshow is a little surprise we cooked up for Bill – we wanted to find a creative way for his family to tell him how important he is in each of their lives.

SNEAK PEEK: Flower Farm wedding for Tommy & Susan

When we awoke on Susan and Tommy’s wedding day we were uncertain as to whether it would take place outside or inside. We drove to the Flower Farm hoping for the perfect day but as the day progressed the weather report looked as though we might have to move inside. We all believed it would be clear for the wedding so Susan braved on and ended up having a very lovely wedding under the big tree just outside the big red barn and next to the Dixie Chicks. There is something special about a wedding ceremony inside a beautiful church, and the St. Francis was a gorgeous backdrop for Megan & Sami’s wedding. From there we whisked them off to Capitol Park for some after wedding images while their family and friends gathered at the Elks Tower ballroom for their reception. Megan had so many amazing details, and the night was so incredible. Their exit from the reception was so magical – a run through sparklers into a carriage!

What an amazing day it was in Walnut Grove! Vanessa & Rigo chose an exquisite location for their wedding – the historic Grand Island Mansion. From the amazing pillars in the front, to the manicured ceremony site to the incredible rooms upstairs and downstairs in the mansion itself!

And to top it off, there was Vanessa & Rigo – what a fun couple! Her dress was amazing!

When we sit down with a couple and talk about their wedding day, I get excited when I hear that the bride has planned lots of details. Megan & Sami love to travel and made that the theme of their wedding. When we arrived at the reception I was in awe of all that she planned and made! Who has time to do that when you have 101 things on your mind. But it all made sense when we learned she is interested in becoming a wedding planner! So keep her in mind when you hear someone is looking!

Sneak Peek: Grand Island Mansion Wedding for Vanessa & Rigo

The splendor of a venue like Grand Island Mansion and the beauty of a couple like Rigo and Vanessa is a match made in heaven! What a treat it was to be somewhere that no matter where you looked there was a picture begging to be taken! From the beautiful shoes and amazing gown that Vanessa chose and the room in which she got ready to the Italian Renaissance columns that they chose to exchange their vows to the opulent dinner buffet under candlelight to the touching toasts and fun dancing it was difficult to not take photos every second.

Old Roseville Portrait Session: Tim & Meredith

We are excied to share our latest session with Tim and Meredith.

Tim won our drawing for a free session at Rocklin’s Crunch Fitness’s Grand Opening. So he used it for a ” Couple Session” for him and his girlfriend. We took them around Old Roseville.

They were so much fun and we really enjoyed hanging with them for he hour we had them.
